Oddest things to say to children...

My daughter of 3 years was playing in her sister's room, and I hear a door open. I ask what she's doing, and couldn't quite hear her.
So I walk in and she's playing in the closet.

First words out of my mouth, "Stay out of the closet honey..."

My cousin turned 5 yesterday.

We had a party last night and my brother was talking to him and said, "I like playing with 5 year olds!"

Then looked up at the rest of us and said, "that didn't come out quite right, did it?"

Was at one of my sister's with my kids and my other sister and her kids were there, too. They were all playing and someone was chasing someone else with a toy, inflatable ax.

My sister yells out, "Give me back that ax!"


We all just started busting out laughing.

Me to my two year old son in a bedroom full of those multi-color ball-pit balls before dinner:

"Stop playing with your balls - it's time to put them away and wash up for dinner"

My wife and friend heard me in the kitchen and *both* burst out laughing
