I just got some ceramique for my Barton 2800+, it worked well, reduced my load temps 5' C, and my idle temps by 3' C, so why on earth does my MOBO go from its old 33' C idle to 35' C idle? my room temps aren't that hot? Any ideas? The only thing I did to my board was add another stick of memory (512MB X 2), and moved the memory into DIMMS 1 and 2, which are a little bit closer to the CPU.

It is probably an airflow problem that is causing the system to heat up a bit, it's really a matter of how many fans are in the case, the positioning of the fans, and the positioning of the wires, the best setup for this is usually to route the wires behind the motherboard wall if you haven't already. Maybe you could try that, but don't rush it if you do, take some time with it, it's an artform of its own kind.

My wires are all neatly organized, running behind the mobo, and bundled in the empty drive bays. I'm just wondering if the RAM being closer to the HSF hss something to do with it?

Perhaps more heat is being displaced since applying the AS and is concentrated near the sensor.

OK, after realizing it was prolly my ROOM, I decided to turn the AC on, temps back to 33'C, and I even lowered my CPU fan from 2800 to 2200 RPM. I guess it was the ambient temp, I was just worried about the memory, do you think the memory being too close to the HSF is a problem?

No. Why would it....excessive heat?
