Odd Windows filesharing problem.

I get the above message when trying to access my shared documents folder on my new Thinkpad.

From the laptop, I can view and access any other computer on the network just fine. It can access itself through network neighborhood as well. However when other computers are trying to connect to it, they can see the laptop on the network but the above message appears whenever I try to get to it.

Google search has been fruitless, offering pages and pages of error code listings but no solutions. Windows knowledge database offers the WONDERFUL information of "contact your network administrator." GEE THANKS.

Can anyone help?

Sure, but there may be some services for preinstalled IBM software.

This particular service appears to be for some websphere software.

Also, amnesiac, just check to see that the server service is running on your laptop.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try disabling those services and see what happens. I'm tempted to just do a complete reinstall of WinXP since there's at least two dozen IBM-proprietary apps in here that are probably screwing things up.
