Odd random AIM convos. Ever get 'em?

For those of you that use the AIM software or an aim protocol plugin, do you ever get weird random messages sometime? From some seemingly random S/N... who initiates a convo with you, says something and then says "who's this?" or "who are you??" ? This has happened a few times, and they usually get pissed off when I respond with "who are you?". 😛 I'm wondering if there are really that many hopelessly bored 12 year old AOL users out there that I could get these messages at random on a regular basis. Or if it's some stupid spamming bot that messages random S/Ns. I don't think it's that though, seems a little too real to be a bot.

I got one recently... I went along with it, and then I got a SECOND one, saying the same thing initially. 😕

That's never happened to me before.

 

i do that to people. With 8 different accounts. They respond to each one 3-4 times, then WHAM! Warning level is at 100%. I'm a l337 hax0r!

That's why I only allow buddies on my list to IM me.

Any idea how they get my S/N to begin with? It's never anybody who I have anywhere near a remote chance of knowing personally or ever having talked to.

I'm contemplating changing S/Ns cause it's getting a little annoying. But I don't want it to continue after that, too..
