I haven't dealt with consumer grade motherboard RAID stuff, but I had a question...
In my servers at work, I can toss in two 300GB drives, then make two logical partitions - one Mirrored 100GB partition for the O/S, then one striped partition for speed and storage.
(yeah, yeah, at work the OS's get their own drives..)
Can you do this with consumer raid stuff? More than likely I am looking at getting either the giga-byte or asus i7 boards, and wanted to know if I can get a nice pair of 640GB drives, then mirror the O/S, and stripe the rest for games. (storage happens on another PC in the network.)
Thanks!
