odd question - any amp-type device to amplify laptop output

i have a laptop that's powering my touch screen jukebox. it's basically outputting the headphone to RCA jack using an adapter.

I wonder, is there an inline amp that I can place there to boost & clean up the sound?

Everything sounds good as it is, but since this thing is going to be tricked out (as much as a touch screen jukebox can be) I want to make sure i'm thinking of other possibilities to improve it.

I gather that you mean for audio? You can connect the green collared audio output port to any good stereo audio amp and go from there. I connect mine to a studio monitor system - and the sound quality is very good.

technically, that's what i'm doing - i have the 3.5mm to RCA adapter going to the input of a stereo.

I was wondering if I needed anything to boost/clean that signal

The quality of the stereo amp will do that as good as you can hear. Beyond that the quality of the speakers has that task. Make sure the stereo amp connects via LINE IN.

if your laptop has a digital audio out you can use that and connect it to an external DAC, then to your amp. Alsmost any external DAC will be alot better than the DAC in a laptop.

This.

99% of laptop's sound is dirty and integrated. Digital output to a receivers DAC or a dedicated DAC will be waaaaaay better.
