Odd problem

Have a MSI mATX board and a Celeron 2.53Ghz. It posts(beeps) once then it makes some other odd static sound on the onboard speed. They are not error codes IDK what they are. Anyway I get this screen and the system just sits there. It won't let me into BIOS or anything. First thing I tried was clearing CMOS several times and pulling the on board battery. Then I tried known good working memory.

I was thinking its memory related since the memory stops at 17xxk when it should be stopping at around 256xxxk(or something) since its got 256mb in it. Tried different slots aswell.

Any ideas? Motherboard shot?

can you get it into the bios before it finishes the mem test? how long have you left it at this point? i know systems that have hung here and then 20min later bam it goes through no prob. i would definatly try a mobo swap if you already determined that the ram is unlikely.

done tried swapping the memory with a known good stick and it stops at the same spot. I've left it there for a long while and after a few mins the monitor goes into standby mode. Tried hitting delete alot of times before boot with no luck.
