I will have Word open, and it's on the start menu bar but there is nothing on the desktop. I right click on the bar down on the start menu and click maximize and then it shows up maximized.

But I dont enjoy working on stuff when it's maximized. When I click the middle button (resize button) Word dissapears from the desktop again, and I have to right click maximize on the start menu bar to get it up again  I swear, I'm pretty good with comps, and I've never had this problem before, but I can't figure it out.

Are there any tricks or shortcuts to fix this?

Maybe you moved the window off the screen. Try clicking on the Word button in the taskbar, then key in Alt-Space-M. That's the keyboard shortcut for moving a window. After keying in the above, hold down each arrow key until you see your Window (or try moving your mouse around, I think that will work also). Good luck!

I have this problem often with some windows. The solution is the same as JonathanYoung but worded differently in case you didn't get it.

Here is your solution:

Right click word in the taskbar and select "Move". DO NOT USE THE MOUSE AFTER SELECTING MOVE. Use the your arrow keys and move around... you should see the Word window come into view... it will be small (only the left corner will show). Simply use your mouse on the right bottom corner to drag it back to normal size again. This happens to some windows and its a simple solution. Have fun!

heh, perfect... thanks for the help guys :) that worked perfectly

I guess I shouldn't say, but I was thinking Word got corrupted, so I reinstalled and did all that jazz and it still didn't 'work' after that. It's kind of embarressing when you learn how easy of a fix it was
