Okay, I was going to test out my Radeon 9250 Pci card and make sure it hasn't died while in storage and upon plugging it in and installing the 6.5 display driver only I'm noticing that even after it installs and the drivers is completely setup 2D immages still seem to draw themselves extremely slow, even as I type this the screen seems laggy o_O. ON the other hand te thing will pass the DX7, DX8 and DX9 interface tests with np after running DXDIAG o_O.

I'm running the monitor res at 1152x864x32 and I tried 60 and 75hz and it still does it : /

Anyone have a clue what the deal might be ?

Update :

AVP2 works perfectly fine @ 800x600 so now I'm really confused o_O

3D does indeed work perfectly but 2D is FUBAR.

Update :

I switched to 800x600 and 2D works better now. Odly enough I can run Star Wars Episode 1 Racer @ 1024x768 though. So this still doesn't explain why 3D performance is better than 2D performance by this big of a margin.

I should be able to run 1024x768 and above with this card.

There seems to be a serious Direct Draw issue here but I'm not able to figure it out atm :(

Update :

Tried to turn down the hardware acceleration for the card and still nadda :( Also tried dissabling write combining then restarting and nadda.

After I send off a M/O and get back, I'ma try a diff driver.

Problem solved :

ASUS A7V880 = no or shitty Pci lock. I killed the OC on my CPU ( default 133mhz bus and I had it at 200 ) and now all the problems are gone :)

That's rather strange. The 200mhz FSB was one of the official FSBs for the Athlon XP, there should be a proper PCI divider on the chipset for it.
