Odd problem with Diskeeper and Win2k

I have Diskeeper set to run every night at 3am, but instead of running it tells me: "Diskeeper has detected that CHKDSK is scheduled to run ont he volume: (C: )..." and it continues on. I am running Win 2k SP4 and Diskeeper 8.0.478.0. I have edited BootExecute in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager to say "autocheck autochk *" as per the suggestions of some with my same problem, but this did not help. I also tried the chkdsk and chkntfs commands to exclude drives, but the exact command eludes me right now. I am completely stumped and I would like to solve this without reinstalling Diskeeper. If it is my OS's fault, then oh well because I am not in a reformatting mood :). Thanks in advance for the help.

Edit: will be out of town for the weekend so it is unlikely I will have pc access until tuesday

Does that match your issue? In other words, do you see that error in your event log?

Yes, that is the error I have in my event viewer... do you have any suggestions other than the ones listed, dclive?

Nope. It's a known problem in Win2k - put the disk in an XP/2k3 box and chkdsk it....

you also get this error if you installed Zone Alarm 5 as it "locks the volume" very early; they [ie ZA] know about it and advised bumping down to ZA4.6 but dont know if it is sorted yet.

Wow that is odd, you'd think they would release a patch or something (they being Diskeeper's creators or Microsoft). Well, since I don't have an XP machine, I guess I will just have to do without defragging (sigh). Thanks for your help, guys. :)
