Odd power button behavior

I've had an odd issue creep up only within the past two weeks. Everytime I go to turn on my computer, the first press of the power button does nothing. Only when I press it again does the computer turn on. I've never encountered this before. Once the computer's up, everything seems fine. No errors or crashes or anything of the sort. It's only the need to press the button twice that's seemingly different now. Does anyone know why this may be the case? Is it a warning sign that something's about to fail? Oh, and my computer is:

AMD 3200+ s939
DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D
MSI GeForce 6600GT
Corsair Value Select 2GB

I've had this rig for 2-3 years now, btw.

My first guess is that it takes 2 tries to get the hds spooled up.

Time to clean out all of the dust, pull/reseat all of the cards and ram sticks (maybe unplug/plug the power connections on drives). Reseating cards, etc. will have the effect of cleaning the contacts somewhat and eliminate any anything that is now loose due to "thermal creep".

Doing the above can sometimes lower the starting load on the psu.
