sometimes i can install a program etc off of a cdrom and not get an error, other times i cannot, i get crc errors, i can open the cdrom close it again and click retry, it will copy the file, now i thought it may be a bad cdrom but my burner and dvd do the same, i cannot watch a full dvd without taking the disk out and putting it back in, now my slave hdd that is on a different IDE controller is corrupting compressed data, i have upgrade my ram and psu since i noticed this issue the first time.i have switched my memory to banks 1&2 from 3&4, no dice. i have reinstalled windows and now i am getting errors in various programs, random reboots from save dumps and blue screens, i am updated 100% and cannot figure this one out. the only thing that i can figure is that the mobo is crap. i am not overclocking at all now, and i wasnt OCing when the issue appeared. thanks for any help!!!

It kinda smells like a memory problem. Either because of a bad stick or the pretty common problem of the last few memory slots on a mobo not working as advertised. It will be painfully slow but try taking yourself down to a single stick and see if you can reproduce some of those problems. Also get yourself a good memory tester and let it run overnight (or probably well into the next day given that you are running a gig of memory)

Lots of random reboots and blue screens when you're positive you have good drivers often turn out to be memory. There's a possibility you have an ATA controller problem too but if you get the reboots and whatnot at times you're not using the controller it would rule this out.

Hope this helps.

I spoke to abit's ts and they suggested a bad IDE controller, so it has been seyup for an RMA
