Odd occurrence involving system memory

I have a machine with the following:

VP6 motherboard
2x Pentium 3 700e@1015mhz
512 mb of pc133 (4 sticks)
Geforce 2
40 gig Maxtor
Linksys NIC
etc.

I am sharing my cable connection through a linksys 4 port router between this and another machine running win2k. Everything has been working fine since I set this up, but yesterday I yanked 256mb out of this machine and I couldn't connect to the internet anymore. I put the memory back in and it works fine. What gives?

Got any tweaks in place? Like WPCREDIT / WPCRSET?

Try pulling two sticks out

Are you running the RAM 222? Try it at 333.

Maybe that one DIMM was just enough slower than the rest to slow down the memory access processes...now that it's gone, the remaining RAM is acessing at a different rate and you're falling out of the timing envelope...which leads to....try reducing the O/C a notch or two.

FWIW
