I have a Win10 VM that I occasionally use with a Linux host, and most of its job really is to use the Quick Assist app to set up remote access sessions with customers' computers.

For the receiver of remote assistance, the app doesn't require a Microsoft account. For the person doing the remoting, it does.

I log in to Win10 with a local account as it's faster to log on and I don't generally need any MS account integration, but my experience with Win10 and 11 is that if you give it have a chance, it will integrate with an MS account the first moment it gets (at least to some extent, retaining a login token so that other MS apps can easily log in to that account), for example if I installed a modern version of Microsoft Office, it would typically activate with an MS account, Windows would ask me if I want to use that account everywhere or MS apps only, and Edge would probably end up with an auto account sync to that account.

In this case it's just Quick Assist and for some reason every time I use it, I have to sign in.

I just had a theory that if I do things the other way around by signing into Edge with a throwaway account (the one I typically use for Quick Assist), tell it "Microsoft apps only", then QA will just auto-sign-in, but no, it's still asking me to sign in!
