Ok 1st the specs
MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R
A64 Clawhammer 3200+ (36c idle & 43c full)
1 Gb Hyper X PC4000 (slot 1 & 3)
Thermaltake 480W Xaser (2 days old)
BBA Radeon 9800 Pro
Audigy 2
NEC 3500 DVD/RW
Lite-On 16X DVD
2X 120GB IDE (no raid)
XP PRO SP1
Ok here ii the issue and the (only issue)
System runs flawless all the time and i rarely need to reboot but do so at least once a week. If i restart i have no isssue at all BUT if i shut down then restart. I won't come up!! Everything starts but it won't post and all 4 leds on the MSI diag card stay red.
Now if i flip the switch on my PSU off then on then hit the power again it may or may not start sometimes takes up to 10 times of this. Eventually it always starts.
Now bear in mind all of these parts are less than 5 months except the mainboard. I just moved all of this from a antec case into a new Thermaltake dream case with a new PSU.. Old PSU was a Antec 480 truepower and had the same problem so it is NOT a power issue. Radeon performs flawless and HD's have no isssues. System acted the same way with a Radeon 9700 Pro as well so it is not the vid card either. To test this further i have ran the system for 3 weeks solid and never BSOD or any hiccups but heaven forbid i shutdown totally i has this issue restarting.
What gives with this cold boot problem???
Any thoughts??
Once again a simple restart in windows never encounters this. Also heat is no issue and RAM passes all tests i have thrown at it. ALL is running at stock.
