Getting an odd Internet Explorer Problem

Under the original admin user that was created when os 10.3 was installed, ie works find without any problems.

Under any other user, it will start to load. there is a very brief error window that opens, show just long enough to see that its there and then goes away and internet explorer does not load.

I created new users both standard and admin and still happens.
All updates are done as well

You're riding a dead horse 🙂 I'd suggest to try Mozilla or Opera.

Anyway you can try the following: In Finder, click on the Internet Explorer icon and press Command-I. In the information window, go to "proprietor and access rights". In the popdown menus, the settings should be (click the padlock button to change them):
propertor: system
group: admin

Or open the application Disk Utility in Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities and click the "repair rights" button.

Or download this old piece of software again if you really feel like it 😉

oh i know that it is dead, but we have a customer that is using a mac and prefers ie over safari for some reason. Maybe i'll try to get them to use it.

The customer's preference for IE in this case is most likely nothing other than experience and a total unwillingness to change. IE for the Mac never went past the 5s, and I think the last version came out sometime in 2001. It isn't even included on Tiger anymore, if that gives you an idea of how dead it is. Move them to a properly updated version of Safari, and they most likely will end up thanking you in the long run.
