Odd HP LaserJet 4050 problem

Confused

Elite Member
As title states, i've got a LJ 4050 printer here that's started printing a blank page at the beginning of every print job, well, blank apart from an individual diamond in the top left corner.

I've had this on other HP printers, and there was an option in the menus for "Suppress Blank Page" which did the trick, but there is no such setting on this 4050.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the banner page is turned off in the printer. I've seen this a bunch of times on our HP LJ 4000s when printing from out AS/400.

mikecel79,

Thanks, I tried that, but I did not see the banner page option in the printer.

Any other suggestions are much appreciated 🙂

What type of server is this coming from? Windows, Netware, Unix, OS/400, etc Is it printing PCL or PS? Is the printer attached directly to a machine or is it via Jetdirect box?

I'm wondering if that is a printer thing, or an OS/driver thing. I swear that I've seen it before too.

If the OS is Windows, then what is your "print processor" set to? EMF? Enhanced EMF? RAW? I would suggest trying one of those three, possibly one that isn't the current setting, and see if that changes anything.
