odd home networking problem fixed!

I have been going back and forth over my home network and just could not get it to work. After going through all the following:
installation manuals
Microsoft trouble shooting
netgear's website
netgear's technical help line
and a bunch of websites recomended here on Anandtech

I finally came across a setting that I was not aware of.
Under file and print sharing for MS networks, advanced settings tab, there is a setting called browse master. Apparently, when all three of my computers tried to talk to each other, they could not decide who would be the master,(browse master) so I decided for them and set two of them to disabled and one to automatic. This apparently worked as my network is now up and running....

Hope this is helpful to somebody out there,

Good Luck!!!

I'm sorry that I didn't see your other post on this problem, but what you have found out is a browser election issue. This happens when every computer on the network (in the absence of a PDC) wants to be the master browser for everyone else on the network. It's a very tricky problem to diagnose. Good job in finding it.
