Saw this one in a Linux forum, and initially wasn't going to try it because it sounded stupid. However, it actually works, and I'm curious as to why.
Quite simple. In Windows Notepad simply type the following and nothing else:
this app can break
Now save it, and open it in notepad, and the characters come out garbled. Further testing showed the actual characters have nothing to do with it. Typing 'aaaa aaa aaa aaaaa' causes the same behaviour.
