Odd, file sharing related... paranoia MPAA spying on US!

My co-worker just sent a link (AIM) to a friend of his to an mpeg file on his laptop (running a web server). Immediately he gets another request from ip 209.179.141.100 to download the first 30k of the file. This is just one of the IPs, there are several other. Is it possible that the MPAA is checking that file to see if it's a movie?

The link was unique and he JUST put the file on his laptop and he JUST sent the link via AIM.

well it just might be someone is sniffing our traffic. We did get a couple of letters from the MPAA last year for illegal traffic.
