Odd fan speed reported

I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. The fan speed is rated at 2500 RPM at full blast. My NVIDIA system monitor, however, reports over 5000 RPM at full speed.

Any ideas why?

Is there a setting in that program for "fan divider" or something similar? It may just be set to read the RPM sensor incorrectly. What does the BIOS, Speedfan or another monitoring program report?

Speedfan is reading around 2600 RPM. BIOS was likewise.

I've looked through the setting of NVIDIA System Monitor, but didn't see anything related to the fan speed.

Well, at least it sounds like the nVidia program is just overreporting by a factor of 2. Maybe someone more familiar with the app can point you to a setting you can change.

If there isn't one, you can try to live with it or choose another utility.
