Odd CPU Utilisation problem with Winamp and Windows 2000.

Hello, i have Winamp version 2.61 and Windows 2000 with service pack 1. When playing an MP3 in winamp my CPU utilisation remains normal @ 1-3%. But when the track ends the CPU utilisation goes to 100% and remains there until i play another track or quit winamp. I know that this is an accurate depiction becuase the temperature of my processor rises accordingly.

I find this annoying and wonder if it is a problem caused by SP1, or perhaps my winamp version.

Any help would be appreciated 🙂

Nope......that doesn't happen with me.

Winamp 2.65, Win2K SP1. My CPU utilization just went to 0% when the MP3 stopped.

Thanks for your input, and i found the root of the problem. I upgraded to Winamp Lite 2.65 but after installing my skins and plugins i noticed the problem occured only after installing them. When i turned off mIRC Control EX Plug-In v0.1 which is just an mp3 script to say "/me is listening to bla bla" in mIRC the problem dissapeared.

I wonder if this was an isolated case, or if anyone else who uses this script has noticed it.

I don't think it will becuase the script is run from within winamp and just sends the info to mIRC, anyway i have mIRC all setup how i like and having that script running is no big deal 😉
