Coming back from the beach with a mate just now, and the engine just spluttered and died, and we came to halt in the middle of three lanes of traffic at a busy intersection 😛

Always amazed at how decent people are tho, within a minute some bloke pulled up on the pavement and helped us push it off the highway, and up a back street, cheers whoever you were mate

Anyway i was a bit low on fuel (on empty but i know there was at least 5 litres in there) so i took the jerry can and grabbed another 10 litres. No dice, just turned over, wasn't flooded either.

So i called my old man, and he said check the spark, and he was 100% right, no spark at all, so he said check and clean all the alternator/distributor connections, and sure enough one of the high tension lead cable connections was filthy (no idea how, since its under a rubber cap). We cleaned that up, and checked the spark again, and it fired up on the remaining three cylinders i hadn't disconnected the leads of. Popped the final lead on and we were gold 😎

So i've learnt something, thought i'd pass it on for those with older cars 🙂 Still not sure how it got so gunked up tho...
