I picked up some Scotchguard @ my local OD (Downtown LA) and it rang up for 1 cent which surprised the heck outta me. Cashier didn't seem to mind much, so I think it might be a clearance thing. Anyone want to verify this?

I can get a SKU later if anyone needs it.

it was taken off the market because of toxicity, that's why they are trying to get rid of it. Actually, they should pay YOU to take it!

i just know i put it on my seats and it'll shock me the devil out of me when i get out of me car into the cold dry air. no more for me thanks.
but it does desrve a bump maybe if you got kids. little cub spilling cocoa/smearing peanut butter on somebody's velvet elvis painting, if the toxicity didn't hurt him(probably wouldn't), they might

They took the product off the market due to a specific chemical compound that made the material water resistant. They have found extremely high ammounts of it basically everywhere, from humans to animals to even islands and forests. Also lab rats would develope cancer if given megadoses of the product. They are now re-engineering the product to make it safer. I say just continue to use it - with all the crap thats out there now that causes cancer, etc some scotchguard wont make that much of a diffrence.
(to find more info just do a search on scotchguard at google)

When I was in high school ('92) it was popular to buy a can of this stuff and sniff it for a high.. The trend quit pretty quickly when there was a kid on TV every other night who had died from doing this.

Oh great, instead or recalling a poisonous product they are selling it for 1 cent and not telling people it's poisonous? I'd hate to be in the liability division of that company if it makes someone sick.

I think I read a study somewhere that albinoism causes cancer in laboratory test mice...

At least that's what Ive convinced myself to believe. Too much conflicting information
out there for me to believe otherwise. (I'm off to OD to see what I can see. Thanks
for the post.)

How about a SKU?

I just called my local OD and they said prices were 1.25 - 7.00 each depending on the exact size and cost -- Ilse 18

If it's really being taken off the market because it's "toxic to humans" then it would be pulled from the shelves.

More likely, a chemical within the spray has been deemed unfit and no longer produced. They'll have "new" cans out soon with some spiffy marketing label.....

I died after sniffing this stuff, too, as a teenager.

The paramedics rubbed Artic Silver on my body, however, and I came back to life. The stuff is miraculous, you see.

it's not at every od anyway. again, i remember seeing a big can on clearance for $3.00, so ymmv
good luck
edit: SOME big cans, not just one
my guess it's just like the yafa pens--out of three ods i went to--all three had varying clearance prices on them
