I was looking around at my local OD B&M and I found a Brother Quattro 900 MHZ Cordless Telephone system (model CTS-410-SS) for $29.44. The tag said it was last on sale for $299 and the receipt shows the list price as $799. I was at the same OD yesterday and did not see this. Might be only at certain stores. Staples sells individual parts of this set anywhere from $99.99 to $149.99. Just thought I would let everyone know. I did not ever see it posted here before and I got no results from a search for it.

:D

I think the price ending in .44 means it is past clearance price. May be hard to find. Do you have a sku ?

Here is the UPC (I will check for a SKU):

1250253447

The funny part is that right beside it they were selling a speakerphone (which is part of the set) for $99!:)

Just Scored one, interesting thing was when I bought it, cashier lowered the price to $20 to sell me a coverage plan for $6 so my total before tax was $26. Nice looking system, but I still have not tested it out as of yet. Also here is a description on the website of Office Depot.

Link to OD

found some info on Brothers site

Hmm, the cashier offered me one, but did not offer to lower the price. Oh well, it is still a deal!

You can bet that here in Southern CA they are going to be gone pretty fast since:

1) Everyone here apparently is unemployed and has plenty of time to go in the middle of a work day to buy them.

2) Everyone here, although unemployed, has plenty of money to spend on every hot deal known to man.

3) It is raining here today, which means that more people will immediately go out and drive on the freeway. Since there are hot deals, they will definately go, although they would still go, even if all hot deals were gone. Rain in Southern CA means "go out and drive slowly and cause accidents."

Hmmm, I went at around 7 o'clock at night and found mine. Weather was good here in Pa, no rain. I only wish I had enough money to spend on every hot deal I have seen.

All gone in Dallas. I got the last one on 75 in Richardson. They guy said there was one in the OD on Beltline (had to be gone), one in McKinney and 3 in Sherman.

I went to McKinney but they were out. Sherman was too far to drive for another phone I don't need.

Does anyone know how to get a list of all the items OD corporate puts on clearance each week?

Seems like some OD worker would put the list on a website or something. Any of y'all had success getting a worker to show you the list (preferably the day it comes out or before)?

kcobra,
if you see the variety of people lately posting the OD deals, you might realize that they indeed just gave it a shot and tried to find out about the price of an item.
Just to be suprised that they were reduced!

More importantly they were so nice and did post it here so others could learn about that too.

So I don't think that there is a list or site (yet), it is just our "try it" mentality.
I found a little item like that too: I just went up to the CSR and asked them for the price, and learned that it was $4.88 instead of the marked $69.99 .
So whenever you see s.th. give it a shot and if it s.th. useful then post it!

Sonic625: The price was marked as $29.44. Weird thing was that they had one of the regular white tags with the barcode that had the price of $29.44. I guess they just decided to clear them out!

I checked a few Southern CA stores and all they had was the speakerphone unit for 99. No one seemed to carry the Starter System. Oh well...

I just picked up the starter kit. It was 99 but was 10% OFF because the store was closing. I want to also note that ALL of the closing stores will not honor any advertised prices or their OWN coupons (15/50). REALLY IS SUCK.
As far as the phone, there is a LOT of hardware! There are a LOT of wires and I still do not have it completely set up. It appears the AC adapters for 2 pieces were defective (since they worked for like 10 minutes and not since). In the starter kit, you get the speakerphone, a base/cordless 900mhz, a big-@ss 900mhz sending unit, and a caller ID unit that is half the size of my laptop. I dunno why a callerID requires a gigantic box. I used the speakerphone and it seems to work good but like I said about the AC adapters...the sender and callerID stopped working, so it could be those. There probably is a good reason why these are on clearance, but I'll stick it out; I needed a phone system anyways... :)
EDIT: The store in question was in Westland, MI and they had these fliers there that had 20 off 100 coupons for stores that will stay open in the area. Also, there is still one more Quattro left at this location.

BTW: there is a total of FOUR fat AC adapters for this baby, so you might wanna get a surge protector thing.

I just picked up the last one of these at my OD. When I called, I was told they were out of stock, and I wouldn't find any at any other store.

Strangely enough, when I stopped in this evening to buy a copy of the Windows ME Step-Up, they had the phone system in stock. (Wow, OD reps wrong again - Could it be that someone saw the price, and wanted to keep it in stock for himself?)

No ME, but at least I've got the phone.

By the way, does anyone know if this thing will work like a PBX? From what I've read, it's possible to do extensions...

Well, I just got mine setup, minus the caller id (don't have caller id on my phone line). Thing seems to be pretty good quality. The base phone has a bunch of different options, like call forwarding to any of the other phones in the system, etc. Still waiting for the cordless handset to charge.

Overall, definately worth 30 bucks just for the cool look. It's not the quality of my Nortel phone at work, but then it cost about 1% of what my Nortel phone cost.
