Newegg is offering OCZ Vertex 4 256GB for 239 - 40 = 199 after Promo code EMCNDHB35 (exp 7/4).

Credit to SD for this deal, link to the thread:

For people looking for a review, the best review IMO for this SSD is linked below, the reviewer actually uses real world tests and not just synthetic tests that means nothing to the end user:

Also, Anandtech still recommended the Samsung 830 at the end of their Vertex 4 review because of firmware issues with the Vertex 4 but that was back in April, not sure if a newer firmware has improved it.

"For more typical mainstream client workloads, the Vertex 4 isn't as good of a fit. The drive is still usable, but it's far from industry-leading when it comes to low queue depth read speeds.

Vertex 4 is a unique drive that really delivers a lot of what we've been asking for from a performance standpoint, but with some tangible caveats that we're told will be resolved in the coming weeks. If you're buying an SSD today, our standarding recommendation (particularly for Mac users) is Samsung's SSD 830. If you have a workload that demands better write and/or random read performance, let's see how this and other soon-to-be-announced drives behave over time before jumping the gun."

I would love to know if the issues Anandtech pointed out have been resolved. If so, I think I'll jump in on this drive, as it looks wicked fast.

Ditto, I was hoping Anandtech would update the firmware on one and benchmark it again to see if OCZ kept their promise and fixed it. But Anandtech isn't usually the fastest at that 🙁

I sure wont speak for anyone else, but it is going to take MUCH MUCH MUCH longer for OCZ to convince me they have stable drives. There are great deals out there now a days that give solid choices with proven reliability.
