How does this drive perform? I know that it wont bench as high as the newer drives, but in real world scenarios how fast is it? It doesnt use sandforce so is it still plagued with the frequent OCZ issues? Also, what size NAND is used, I heard that the larger the NAND the more write cycles it has.

20MB/sec random 4K read/write, 120MB/sec sequentials. Something around that. I think that's what my 30GB Agility gets. If yours is the 120, it should do better than that.

I have a 32GB Onyx from the same generation (difft, cut down controller). It's not an Intel, but I am happy with it for the price. I use it in a Dell Latitude with W7 and Office, and it gets the job done way better than the old 80GB 7200.2 that was in there. Make sure you check the writes/health because until the most recent (1.7?) firmware, the write amplification was quite high and then it was fixed to a level where I no longer care about write cycles. Never had any issues in terms of crashing etc, and I put my laptop to sleep all the time.

Hows TRIM on your drive/the vertex 1?

It works. It's very necessary. I tried running two 30GB Agility drives in RAID-0, after a week, they had degraded (without TRIM) to something slower than a single drive. It was pretty bad.
