OCZ Value VX Active Cooling

I know that the OCZ Value VX does not come with a RAM heatsink as the Gold VX does. It would require active cooling (a fan blowing over it) to achieve stable running at high voltage

I wonder if these would do much help. Or possibly even eliminate the need for a fan blowing over it in well ventilated cases?

EDIT: Oops I realised I could have post this in the Case & Cooling forum instead. Sorry if that causes any inconveniences

Why don't you buy a heat spreader instead? You could get some from Thermaltake, and others as well. I use Thermaltake's heat Spreader on my RAM Sticks at home. They work just great. I rather passive over active as per you will have passive with some air moving around in the case from the case fans, so you get a bit of both.

Yeah
But I get the impression heat spreader are thin, light and not jaggy so the quality of cooling may not be as good as blocks of heatsinks.

I just put a 80mm fan over the 2 modules that is held by 2 rubber bands over the ram slots and is supported at the bottom by the amd heatsink.
