Hello all:

I am thinking of making a memory switch for my computer. I currently have 4x512MB of Corsair 3200XL which is really good memory, don't get me wrong. But as many know having four sticks on the A64 platform makes for a 2T command rate which I have heard hurts performance. I do not know how much but still it seems as though many recommend 2x1GB and as such I think I would like to go this route. These OCZ Titanium sticks have a CAS latency rating of 2-3-2-5 which is much better than any other 1GB stick I have ever seen. However, I can not find the dual channel pack anywhere. I found something similar at monarchcomputers but these are Platinum not Titanium, and have a different part number.

So anyone know where to find this memory or if it is even available? And is this the best 1GB stick out there right now?

Thanks.

As I understand it, you're better off with the Platinum. Titanium is OCZ's stability (read: server) line, and isn't designed for uber OCing. It's also more expensive than platinum, I think, so unless you're building a server or workstation, just buy the platinum sticks lol.

I was about to recommend a venice CPU, but it looks like you have an FX 55 already. If you do a bit of OCing, not too difficult, you should be able to get a venice 3200+ to at least 2.6... that may turn out to be a bit cheaper (good 1 GB sticks can be expensive, as I'm sure you know)
