"By releasing our OCZ 8500 Nitro now and our OCZ 8500 Nitro SE soon to follow, we are able to provide a superior product with a longer shelf life then products available from other manufacturers".

Check their reseller ratings? Where? Regardless, you have to admit they do put out some pretty pimp products :)

*EDIT* But for many, I think a lot of the fun in owning the 8500 is to do some of the nifty tweaking for it by yourself :)

Take your choice, their listed on ResellerRatings under 4 different names. Once their rating drops to below 2 under one name they make another site and get a new name on ResellerRatings and start all over again.
Their under investigation by the BBB for three counts of fraud.

In the past they've been banned from being mentioned on the AnandTech HotDeals forum, and they've been banned from being sold in the AnandTech For Sale/Trade forum in the past because of their dubious business practices.

Their specs always look wonderful, but they ever seem to ship products that correspond to the specs they claim. Their RAM and overclocked processors is their biggest point of debate as the RAM and processors they sell very rarely seem to his the speeds at which they've supposedly 'tested and guaranteed' them at.

They are also well known for selling remarked AMD Athlon processors.

I could go on but I think you get the point. Stay away from OCZ. I wouldnt wish them upon my worst enemy.
You can count the number of 'satisfied' customers they have on one hand.

As I said... you can buy ocztech items from several online outlets. theoverclockerzstore is one of them, but is not the only choice. If someone is interested in ocztech products they can buy from a few different sources, several of which are not owned by the same company. jm0ris0n didn't say where to buy this card, he just pointed out its existence... if you want one, buy it from somewhere with a better reseller rating.

www.ocztech.com does not necessarily imply www.theoverclockerzstore.com

Your right, ocz does not imply www.the overclockerzstore.com. It IS www.theoverclockerzstore.com, www.webuildpcs.com, www.abilitycomputers.com, and one other I cant remember right now. They all fall under the following buisness:

Central Computers
3287 Willowcreek Road
Portage, IN 46368

If you don't believe me, go to each site and check the addresses.

Seventy Seven, you need to pull your head out of your ass and listen to what ppl are telling you. These companies are all OCZ. Call them and ask. I did.

ajb35 and others... Why don't you read what I said before you make ignorant comments to me. Perhaps it's your head stuck up your ass preventing you from understanding me!!

The whole point of this thread was someone pointing out that a manufacturer had a new product offering available. He never said where to buy it, but immediately others started saying that they had a terrible reseller rating. Myself and a few others realized this was stupid, since a store was never mentioned in the originl post!!

Yes, you can buy ocztech items from the overclockerzstore, and they have had problems, but no one said to buy this there. If you go to the link below you will see what I am talking about... several outlets for ocztech components, several of which are not owned by the same company as ocztech!!

OCZ Resellers

Again... www.ocztech.com does not necessarily imply www.theoverclockerzstore.com

If you have any more nonsense to add, I'm done here. I just wanted to make a clarification, but it's turned into defending something that I have nothing to do with.

LoL, man I never thought I'd see the day that someone would defend OCZ or any of its many affiliates...other than someone who worked for OCZ (which IS SUCK btw).

I guess he still doesn't get it. OCZTech is just another arm of what is known as "OCZ" here on AT. Its their attempt to be a top-to-bottom OEM/distributor/marketer/re-seller of "top quality" computer products. They figure if they saturate the market with different company names and take turns patting themselves on the back, they might generate some business for themselves. If you're selling crap and don't plan to stand by it, why not make it yourself? They don't have the capability of printing/making boards themselves, and in all likelihood, the chip makers like nVidia and ATI wouldn't let them b/c they wouldn't stand a chance with QA testing. So instead, they enter into contract with an approved OEM, re-mark the boards, slap on some fancy looking heatsinks, and slap a huge premium on the card claiming "enhanced" performance. I just pity the fool that falls for this devious marketing ploy. Buyer beware, you have been warned.... OCZ IS SUCK!!! [b/]

Sheesh,...unless you've dealt with OCZ first-hand, what's with all the bashing? Sounds like alot of you guys *cough*Chizow*cough* are playing devil's advocate.

Got my OCZ Titan II ultra, Titan III, and a HELLUVA lot of DDR RAM from them, and have always been content with their service.

*sarcasm* OH DEAR GOD!! I MUST be working for them now, huh?"
;)

Noone's forcing you to do business with them, people. But SH!T!, base it upon your OWN experiences, rather than this, "I knew a guy, who knew a guy, who knew a guy that got ripped off by them." :disgust:

And remember,.....ANYONE can just go in and post positive/negative ratings about anyone on resellerratings.com, REGARDLESS of whether or not they ever purchased a product. Needless to say, BECAUSE of all the OCZ-hating in the past, I don't use that site as a factor on my judgement.

OCZ is a manufacturer not a reseller

You said this. This is incorrect. My reply was directly to that comment. Obviously you are talking out of your ass. Who's ignorant?

Do search for ocz pc3000 on this site. You'll read about my personal experience.
