"they dumping all this ram to make room for DDR3 next year or something?"

It could be a sign of how bad the economy is, or how bad the view of the economy is now. OPEC has plans to cut something like 4.4 million barrels a day and oil is still going lower.

I would be all over this memory only have have too much now.

Hey guys, can someone please tell me if this RAM is compatible with my mobo? I'm pretty sure it is, but I'll feel much better if someone can confirm. I dont really NEED it, but at this price I simply cannot resist....

They're just slow, in my experience. My OCZ Vanquisher rebate took a little over 3 months. I used the PayPal 15% cashback to just grab some DDR2 800 without a rebate. Cost me about $15 for 2gb, but I'm just tired of dealing with rebates at this point.

their not...

They sometimes are. I lost out on an OCZ rebate that required a 10 day postmark, because I ordered just before the weekend and it didn't ship until the next week, then I missed delivery and DHL did not automatically redeliver (had to call them) so it was delayed another weekend. OCZ did 10-12 day quite a bit earlier in the year and they got a lot of complaints.

Yeah, that 10-day thing was a sucky thing to do imo, though I was able to get my rebate off in time and didn't get burned. In my experience their rebates do take longer than most but I've never not received one.

I've used OCZ Platinum Ed DDR2 800 on the Gigabye GA-965P-DS3 rev 1.1 with no problem. I'm sure these are not much different.

They still do that, along with just about all other manufacturers.

ANY memory sold that requires voltage over the JEDEC standard is remarked. Ahem, nowadays it is "factory overclocked." Yes, they ALL do that, at minimum for lower latencies.

My OCZ VISTA 4GB is even worse. It is sold as DDR2-800, but the SPD reports settings only up to 667MHz.
