OCZ PS won't fit in P180

I just received my Antec P180 case and new OCZ PS (520 SLI) in today. I have built a few computers in the past but never one that required me to put in a power supply (the cases always came with their own). It seems to this ignorant person that the OCZ PS is too big for the P180. The cage that came with the case doesn't fit around the PS, and:| with the case fan that blows on the PS in place, there is no way to put the power supply in without having the PS cable pushing really hard on the fan. I had to remove the fan just to get the PS in place, and now with the fan back in place, the cables are really pushing hard against the fan. I thought about mounting the fan on the other side of the fan bracket (toward the HD cage), but I would have to mount the fan in backwards and it would blow towards the front of the case and not on the PS. I hope that I have explained my dilemma well enough and that someone can help me. Thanks.

Although I don't own a P180 or an OCZ PSU...have you tried mounting the PSU upsidedown?

dude,,,the fan on the top of the case is totally not necessary, unless you have real bad airflow!!

I have a top case fan too. Even though my PSU fits just fine , I don`t use at all the top fan...in fact I took it out!

Also since you say this is not your first build then of course you know that some PSU`s just will not fit right side up in the case!!

No problem here, P-180B case, and OCZ GameXtreme 700W PSU.
The mounting cage fit around the psu fine. The cables are a bit close to the fan, but nothing to worry about. I mounted it upside down (read that it didn't matter either way). I decided to use a 6" extension for the 12v 4 pin mb connector because I could run that cable more out of the way than I could otherwise. Didn't have to do anything to the fan next to the psu.

I have a P180 with a Powerstream 520 in the rig I'm typing this reply on. It does fit, both with and without the bottom chamber fan in place. If you're worried about the fan getting "pushed hard" by the cables, take it out, or buy a grill for the fan.

I have OCZ 520 Powerstream as well..I removed the lower chamber fan ....
PSU cage fits fine around my PSU

The PC Power & Cooling 1kwh PS, which I want for my new system, won't fit this case?

The guy has an Antec P180 case -- he's satisfied with the case. And he has a PowerStream 520 SLI, which, though the efficiency is not all that great, is a darn good PSU for the money.

He just needs to know how to make the case and PSU work together.

I took a look at that case on Newegg. It looks as though the lower chamber fan is the source of his complaint, and this fan appears to be a 120x38mm fan ( I could be wrong, but it appears that way.) Now, looking at the manufacturer specs, it IS a 120x38mm fan.

I'd replace the 120x38mm fan with a 120x25mm. That should give more clearance for the wiring, although with some slight compromise to CFM airflow. The fan is located in such a position within the case that adding a few decibels of fan noise from that location won't have nearly the impact it would if the fan is in the case-front.

There are a lot of 120x25mm fans out there -- not too pricey, which would probably work fine.

Frankly, with this type of midtower case, and with the restricted opportunity for airflow from the case-front, I'd put the sucker up on coasters after cutting a 120mm fan hole in the case bottom and installing an intake fan there.

Nice case, but sorry -- I like full-tower cases for reasons implicit here.
