OCZ PowerStream Will it fit in a LIAN-LI PC-V1000

I am looking to get the OCZ Power Stream PSU, either the 520 or the 600, and wanted to make sure it will fit in my Lian-LI PC-V1000 case. My Antec Tru-430 fits, but with the cables it's a bit tight.
How much larger are the OCZ PSU's?

If that doesn't work will the Fortron 550 EPS PSU fit.

As a last resort the PC&P Turbo 510 is a thought.

As a last resort? I Are you talking "last resort" due to the price tag? PC Power & Cooling makes the best PS' around. Not the least expensive (probably THE most expensive), not the flashiest, but with the best build-quality, tightest power regulation, and best warranty. I don't think anyone who appreciates quality and who understands how important consistent, tightly regulated power is to a high-performance PC is will buy a 510 ATX Deluxe series and be dissapointed.

Not trying to flame OCZ or Fortron (never used either, and I posters say they're good) but 10 years of experience with the PC P & Cs' has earned my business and recommendations. Be sure to check-out the PS ratings at 40C and 50C as well as the rated power at each Rail, and each Rails' power regulation %. The PC P & C's 510s' output of 510W is at 40C (it's 25C rating is actually 600W). Many manufacturers use power ratings at 25C which is misleading.

BTW, I have a 510 ATX Deluxe in a V1000. Fits fine, but we are not talking masses of room either. There is only about 1" of clearance between the PS and the PS compartment wall, so where the braided loom comes out of the PS clearance is only adequate due to the thickness of the loom.

EDIT: Actually, the PC Power & Cooling 510 Deluxe is 510W rating is achieved at 50C. 600W@25C, 550W@40C, and 510W@50C.
 
Yes but the PCP&C is very noisy. The OCZ is just as good but doesn't have a tight of power management fortron isn't in the same league as those 2. The OCZ is slightly below the PCP&C in terms of performance but much quieter. So it is a trade off.

Will the modstream fit in the v1100? I noticed it has a different fan layout than the powerstream, so it might just fit. Could not find and dimensions though for quantitative analysis. How does the modstream compare to the powerstream?

I'm not familiar with the modstream, and while the interior dimensions of the V1100 are probably the same as the V1000 I can't be sure, but as long as the dimensions of the modstream are no larger than the PC P & C 510 series AND NO FAN IS TOP-MOUNTED you should be OK.

The 510 ATX, 510 ATX Deluxe, 510 Express (with 20/24-pin mobo and 6-pin PCI Express videocard plugs) , and the 510 SLI (with 20/24-pin mobo and dual 6-pin PCI Express videocard plugs) are all the same dimensions. Here is a link to the specs of some of the 510 series:

Also keep in mind that even if a PS fits within a case there may be other things that make it difficult for you. Case in point - the X-Connect modular PS. The limited clearance between the X-Connect's cable interface panel and the PS compartment's wall make it impossible to use the X-Connect without majorly kinking the cables at 90 degree bends in a V1000. My brother bought an X-Connect and returned it due to this.
 
So a PSU with a top mounted fan will not fit? or will cooling just not be ideal? I know some have confirmed that the Antec Neopower and Fortron power supplies fit fine and I believe they have 120s on the top. Thanks for your help!

What do you mean by top mounted fan? Are you talking about exhaust fans that face downwards once installed?

I guess I am wondering the same thing.
 
After checking I am confident that neither the Power Stream nor the Mod Stream will fit in my case.
Going by the dimensions on the OCZ website both are about 1 inch longer then my Antec and that is
already tight.

There are 2 reasons I did not go with the PC&P. 1 It's loud according to all the reviews and 2 it's just to expensive.
Really more 1 then 2, but both are important.

We shall see if I made a good choice, but all the reviews seem to think so.

I should have clarified my statement about "top-mounted" fans. IN THE V1000 the PS top (side facing the top of the case) mounts flush with the bottom side of the main compartment, so if a PS' fan is mounted there it cannor operate.

This may sound obvious, but I've seen and used cases where the PS "top" did not fit flush with the top of a case, and "top" mounted fans could actually operate.

As long as the PS in question is mounted so that the fan(s) face DOWNWARD when mounted you will be OK, as there is adequate clearance underneath the PS to allow air to be drawn into the unit. You may know thta the V1000 has holes drilled into the bottom of the case, so that air can actually be drawn up into the hard drive and PS compartments this way.

(1) I can tell you from experience that the 510 ATX Deluxe I have IS NOT the quietest PS I've ever used, but then it is also the most powerful unit I've ever used. Therefore, I cannot compare it's noise level to that of other PS' in the same class. It IS as quiet or more quiet than some other less powerful PS' that I have heard though.

(2) Based solely on price the 510s' are definitely expensive. But if you ever own one you will know why they are the best. I don't really even consider the 5 year warranty. Its' the build quality and the confidence that my system will always have the cleanest, tightest regulated power power to feed my system that gets me to buy from PC P & C. To each his/her own.
