Hey guys got a question, got a 600watt powerstream and it has a high pitch whineing noise that changes tone under certain loads, like if you scroll a page it will change ,it did not do this for the first couple of days i had it just wondering if its anything i should worry about its just annoying anybody else got this noise in there powerstream?

It could be a bad fan... usually it will increase speed based on how much power is being drawn to keep the thing cool. I don't have one, but that would be my guess. Does it do it under heavier loads?

I had a cheap power supply(Deer) that started doing that after about 6mo. It definitely was not the fan.

Try momentarily stopping the fan with a pen and see if the noise persists.

Are you sure it's not the 60Hz hum? A high pitched noise from a PSU is NOT good. Stop the big cooling fan and retest. Probably time to RMA.

try to RMA it...sounds like a bad PSU...do the fan test to make sure though...

Do you have a really heavy load on it?? pelts? with your system it should not be doing that...
