OCZ PowerStream 520 WATT or PC Power and Cooling 510 Watt?

Going into my rig in my sig below.

OCZ can be found for $109 AR (NewEgg)
PCP&C about $200 (Used)

Going to replace the DFI Ultra-D board with the Expert.. possibly watercooling in the future.

Obviously I am overclocking 🙂

Anyone compare how stable the rails and noise levels are?

I wouls go with the OCZ. THe PCP&C is probably going to be around the same quality, probably a little better, but the OCZ is half the price. The 520 watt powerstream is one of the best psu's out there, so you probably aren't going to have any problems.

The PC Power & Cooling is the superior PSU but you really can't go wrong with the Powerstream either. In terms of stability, the Powerstream is rock solid and while the PC P&C would be better there's only a 30W difference in peak wattage (620W of OCZ vs. 650W of PC P&Q) and slight difference in +12VDC output . . . (33A vs. 34A) Both are SLI-certified.

If you want the absolute best get the PC P&C, but the OCZ Powerstream should be more than sufficient for your needs . . .

Thanks.. Looks like i'll be getting the OCZ.. I believe I need to get extensions so it will reach my mobo in my P180 😛

I highly recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104973

Not flashy but awesome performer and perfect for the P180. This psu will deliver 500watts continuous at 50C, 550 @ 30C, nearly similiar to the PCP&C. Why are you switching brands? 😉

Also 8 pin expert ready.

My rig is similiar to yours:

Fortron FPS550-60PLN (ripple = 0% for 12v and 5v, 0.16% for 3.3v)
P180
DFI nf4 Ultra-D
Opteron 146, 2750 MHz @ 1.36v
XP-90 with 92 mm Panaflo HBX
GSkill 2GBZX DDR500
EVGA 7800GT
