I got my OCZ Powersteam 520w two days ago.
When i run prime 95 torture test , there is an realy annoying electric sound coming from the PSU. Mainly in the In-place large FFTs test, but also in the blend test.
Anyone with this psu who has this problem ?

did you screw the psu too tight in the back? I had this weird grinding noise in the back when I screwed in my psu too tight.

no, it aint the screws.

I get the same noise, much lower though when i use the "Mouse-wheel" or what its called.
I think i have to return this psu.

I have the 420w powerstream. I'm running prime95 right now and I have no noise. Call OCZ Tech support guys, they are nice and will probably just tell you to return the PS.

I´ve exchanged my 520W Powerstream for a 520W Modstream. I Still get this Strange noise when running Prime ! Not as high as on the powerstream but its still there.
So maybe somethings wrong with my ASUS A8N SLI deluxe ? I dont know.... this is weird ! :|

You know how some people put together all the pieces on a benchtop and test-run it before putting it all into a computer case? Maybe you might want to try that so you can more easily isolate the noise source. It may or may not be your PSU.

If it's your PSU, return it and get a Seasonic. 😀

It's most likely the fans running higher rpms, which my 520 Powerstream does whenever the system is under full load.
