OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB 800MHz for 209.99$ AR

It's good RAM although I can't really comment on current RAM prices. I bought this for $190 less $60 MIR a few months ago but RAM seems to have gotten more expensive.

yeah i just bought this from them (saw it on FW). I've been holdng out on buying this for few weeks now. 'cause DDR2 were like $300+, but this is good cost though not to mention free shipping always nice.

$209 with CAS4 you can't go wrong 😉

yeah, i had the gold version, it works fine with 2.1 volt. The spec says 2.1, and bios boot up at 1.8 voltage, so it didn't boot up because under voltage. Most of new bios already fixed that problem. Just in case if you have older boards, just put in 1 stick, bott up, change bios setting, then reboot with 2 sticks.

Beware of OCZ rebate.

I can't download the rebate form at work so I can't say for exact certainty about this particular one, but I recommend reading it before buying.

From past experience, OCZ rebate have very short window for you to send it in, typically 15 days after date of purchase. So if it becomes backordered or if you have a shipping snafu there is a good chance of your rebate getting invalidated. Just a warning.

I'm telling you all this because I got shafted out of a $50 OCZ rebate.

PS: Welcome to the board, FinalDestination.

Actually this rev 2 stuff kicks major arse. I had the rev 1 stuff and it was indeed crap, but they RMA'd me the rev 2 and my E6600 loves it at 3.6GHz - low timings and stable.

Thanks OP!

I jumped on the last night......I don't know why: My Patriot DDR2 667 is running 980, although it does need 2.2 VMem and a little extra cooling.

Just figued it would be nice to see if my E6300 would do 3.9 😀 :lips:

So tempting...need ram for my d805 & Abit NI8 budget superstar game box....

I have the rev 1 of this memory with an Abit Ni8 and D930 and the ni8 hates this memory. It will not run on 1/1 settings have to underclock 733. You have to set timings with one stick installed before it will boot in dual channel. Then it will boot a few times and for no reason crap out and you have to start over again. Thinking about RMA ing it and hope I get rev 2. Johnny Walker you may wanna try 667 memory and maybe even another brand with the Ni8.
