Um, you do realize that a lot of computer components have materials on them that should be disposed of correctly, right? This way they can at least do that for you.
Most companies require it so they can verify you did in fact have a faulty part, and aren't just trying to get free stuff out of them.
I will definitely be looking into OCZ products in the future. I've had a not so great experience with Mushkin, and while they've done a decent job of making amends, I don't think I'll be purchasing their products in the future (I won't say for other people not to, though, as I know plenty of people haven't had any problems at all with them or their products).
The more I hear about OCZ's support the more I like them. I recall about a couple of years or so ago, when they were just coming out with their 600W Powerstream and a batch of them was faulty and was killing people's systems. There was one guy who lost an X800XT PE and several other high end parts. This is back when the X800XT was pretty much impossible to find, let alone the PE version, and if you could find it in stock anywhere it was $800. They didn't just give him money to replace what he lost, but rather tracked down one of the cards and sent it to him, as well as replacing everything else that was killed. That is support.
