Hi Guys.

I am looking at doing some serious OC, and i want to get either PC3700 OCZ Platinum EB or Geil PC4000 Ultra Platinum.

Im not asking about timings etc..I want to know what OCZ is like as i have never used it myself. I hear that its the best RAM for Intel.

I currently am using GeIL PC3500 which i am selling to a mate.

Can you give me your opinions please.

I know that most AMD users wouldn't use OCZ as you get better performance out of Intel CPU's.

 Huh?

I'd go for the Geil and OC as far as that EE will take you.

I was talking to a mate of mine who works in the industry, he was telling me about suitable RAM types for AMD and Intel.

He was telling me that Corsair is not great RAM for Intel.. OCZ is better ?? He also stated that OCZ doesn't perform as well with AMD..

So i just want your opinions on the matter!!

thanks

wouldn't touch GEIL with a 10 foot pole, the only time I used that garbage it wouldnt even run stable at stock speed, swapping to Kingston proved to be just fine.

OCZ over Geil any day.

Are you only considering those 2? Kingmax PC4000 memory is cheaper and works just as well. Out of the 2 though I'd go with the cheaper one, or the PC4000 if you're overclocking a lot.

Hi.

I have had a look at Kingston HyperX as well.

I find that if i reduce the latencyMy Pc3500 to 2.2.2.6 it wont even boot. However i have not adjusted the Vdimm at all.

Geil cost me over $2000. so i wouldnt want to recommend them. long story, basically it was a screwed up module, and i couldnt identify the problem so i kept on replacing everything until i found out it was the ram.....

only my experiences though, im sure others have had some good ones with Geil
