OCZ Octane 1tb availability?

Does anyone know if and when this SSD will actually become availble to purchase? I need two of them. I can't actually afford it right now, but they announced this thing around October/November/December of last year. It really irks me that they would announce it, knowing that it wouldn't be available for months, if at all. I am guessing that the overall hard drive supply shortage might have something to do with this, but I really have no idea. I have also been looking for the internal Seagate 1.5tb 2.5" notebook hard drives. I have seen them on some of the second tier websites for the past few months, but not on any of the more mainstream sites like Newegg. Seagate initially announced the 1.5tb 2.5" drives for external hard drives, but that was quite a while ago. I would have expected them, before the recent flooding, to have ramped up production of the 1.5 drives sometime earlier in 2011. Any advice or comments on any of this would be greatly appreciated. I'm also interested if anyone has any guesses about when 2tb notebook drives might become available, 13mm or 9mm?

If that irks you, then stay away from cars. 😀 Some of the hot new models start out life a year or two before they're available.

Highest capacity notebook drives are always the thicker variant due to using more platters (3 versus 2) until platter density rises enough.

Will Apple sell more Ipad 3's if they announce that all sku's of the product will be available on April 1st and actually have them available on April 1st, or will they sell more if they make the announcement, "Right now, all sku's of Ipad 3 are definitely ready and available.", then when you go to order one, there are none to be found? You go back, after May 1st, then there are still none to be found. I guess I am being unreasonable because I am expecting to actually be able to get my hands on a product that I was told exists and is available...........SOMEWHERE 😕

AND.....for those customers that actually want the OCZ and go out looking for it because they are led to believe it exists, I guess they should be happy when they go to order it and can't find it? I guess that wanting a product that is announced and then not being able to buy it anywhere builds good customer will and grows enthusiasm for the product right?

Surely, going online, day after day, week after week, looking for something because you have absolutely no idea when you will be able to find out, that's good for business 🙂 That makes me want to buy even more OCZ products. *not really* 🙄
