The EA430 is a better 430W PSU, than the ModXstream Pro is a 600W PSU. Unless you are adding something, or plan to OC much more, I don't see any reason to spend $30 on a mediocre PSU, when you already have a decent PSU that powers what you have.

For $30 it's a steal. I've worked with this PSU and it's much better than people have been implying. From a quality standpoint, I'd say it's as good as the Earthwatts.

I disagree. It is a mediocre 600W ripoff of a CWT design. You can't compare a mediocre 600W to a decent 430W.

It can do 600W, even if it is just mediocre, so obviously it has the 430W beat there. But as I said above. the EA430 is better for a 430W unit, than the StealthXstream is for a 600W unit.

The OCZ is worth every bit of $70, so yeah it is a steal at $30 (if you get the rebate). I still don't see any reason to spend $30 on it though, unless he plans to upgrade beyond the capabilities of his EA430.

I was going to upgrade my video card to something a bit more powerful down the line & push the Quad a bit more. But, the rebate hassle & Hoofan's comments have changed my mind. :) Gonna pass on this one. Thanks guys!

If you need a 600W unit, the OCZ would do fine, but there are certainly better units out there too. Not for $60 or lower, but there are better units.

I have read that ModXstreams have ripple issues, dont know if they are really a big issue, but for the price its a really good offer !

The ones that I have seen reviewed had acceptable ripple suppression. Not the best, but nothing close to the top end of the ATX specification either.
The beef I have seen on them is that they are certainly not rated conservatively in the least. They advertised them as being rated for 50C, yet they would cut off at 45C when you tried to pull their full rated capacity.
They did ok at 40C though...which OCZ came back and said they were rated for, even though the box stated 50C. They still weren't particularly efficient at higher loads at 40C, which pretty much indicates they are running at their limit. They are also pretty light on the 12V output. The 600W unit is only rated for 504W of 12V output (84% of total), compare that to something like the Corsair HX620 which is rated for 600W of 12V output (96% of total).

That Corsair PSU is one of the best quality i have seen in years. Buy it. End of story, i got mine for $109 CDN a few months back.

I used to build computers for a living and have seen my share of quality and junk PSU's, and i opened up my PSU when it arrived just to take a look, didnt care if it voided warranty and I would say it is on par with PC power and cooling for quality of components. Also untill you put it under a load of 500 watts or more its damn quiet cause the fan hardly needs to spin to keep it cool.
