I ordered an OCZ Modstream Power Supply 520W from excaliberpc.com and everything went well. I kinda jumped the gun and now I wish I had purchased the OCZ Powerstream Power Supply 520W instead. I think they have a re-stocking fee of 15% for exchanges per the store guidelines. Should I just sell it on eBay knowing I can probably get close to what I paid for it? It is still new in sealed original packaging. The crap I get myself into sometimes.

I want it because of the adjustable rails and also the 33a 12v rail vs the 28a 12v rail on the modstream.

The modstream should offer better airflow inside your case since you only will plug in the cables you find necessary. Also it has a stronger 5V rail which isnt bad at all. You might as well try it out and see if it gives you stable voltages before you return it if you are going to return it anyways.

Well see I am putting together an am Asus SLI motherboard based sytem with 2 6800gt video cards and I want to make sure I have enough juice powering everything. I will admit that the Modstream is really pretty but the Powerstream is a beast.

I'd try out the Modstream because that should run an SLI setup just fine. I dont know why everybody thinks you need 600+ watt PSU's to power a SLI setup.

If you interpolate the Anandtech review of SLI power consumption, 2 SLI'd GTs should make for a total system draw of 300W. A good 400W PSU should be ok, maybe running a little hot at times. 500 Watts with good efficiency would be plenty.
