This psu is priced almost too reasonably at a local pc store, I can't really find any reviews at all online but the specs look pretty good. 2 pci-e (6/8pin), modular, 2 12v rails, 100 000 h mtbf, 80+ efficiency, atx v2.2, red led fan

OCZ PSU? Pass...

I was laughing at their ad where it said something like 'co-developed with Fatal1ty' :D
What could he possibly have to say about developing power supplys..

Why pass? What problems are associated with it? I have read positive things about other brands of OCZ psu's, just cant find anything on these.

"Mirror Lapped", eh? You do know that shiny is unimportant and can actually reduce heat transfer efficiency? It's flat that is important, but it's also important that the CPU's heat spreader surface is flat as well so the surfaces mate without significant gap. I've heard that some heat spreaders are curved and that the TRUE was made curved to match - I thought it was BS at the time, but haven't heard much about the issue since...
. I also know that some OCZ PSUs are made by Seasonic. That being the case, it should be a decent unit. I'm guessing only some appearance details were added by Fatal1ty which should make no diff to an already solid box. As long as you won't be paying any more than a normal unit would cost, then go for it. I see it for $80. and free ship at Amazon.
. There was one review linked from the OCZ web site.
. Unless it was an excellent deal, I probably wouldn't buy a PSU with an LED fan in it as I know that there are very few decent LED fans at the kind of price point they'd have to hit for inclusion in a PSU and certainly no ball-bearing ones which I'd want for a PSU fan.

I don't know of any OCZ PSUs made by Seasonic.....

Current ones are made by Sirtec, FSP, 3Y(bought by FSP) and Impervio

It is possible the Fatality is made by Impervio.....but I don't know. Impervio would be a good thing.

Both the processor and heatsink are mirror lapped, it took me two days of sanding slowly while listening to music and anticipating my cpu build. I used OCZ freeze inbetween - its about as good as your gonna get on air more or less.

I purchased the OCZ MOD Stream Pro 600w, and I'm pretty disappointed with it. The cpu power cable is far too short and has to stretch over the videocard to get to its destination, rather than being routed under the mobo tray or along the right side. It is pathetic how short this cable is. The other cables are also short but I'm using a mid tower (CM 690) case so they get the job done. Sigh.

As a sidenote, this p/s is for my brothers pc which I'm building, and I lapped his q9550 as well. Not quite mirror finish, but flat shiny copper - should help a bit.
