OCZ EL4200 vs. OCZ 4000 Gold

The 4200 is about $30 more than the 4000 gold and they look like they have similar timings. I have a watercooled 2.4c on an IS7-G and I want to get the highest 1:1 I can (w/out sacrificing too much in the way of timings). Would the 4200 be worth it or should I grab the 4000 golds while they are so "low" in price ($350). Thanks!!

Why do you want to spend double the price to go 1:1 with relatively loose 2.5,4,4,7 timings??

Drop down to 5:4 and use Winbond BH-5's and they should take your 2.4C to about 3.2-3.3 Ghz at 2,2,2,5. (3.2-3.3 is about the max. for an average Northwood).

What your loose going async would probably be made up with the better timings. Your wallet would also be much happier!!

Yeah, I know. the big debate for me was whether or not to go for the Mushkinlv2 3500 but they were already $300 and these were $340 (OCZ EL4000). Since I am going the WC route I really want to see how high I can push the CPU and if I could get 280 1:1....that would be pretty impressive and it would have to some fairly tight timings to touch that. Lastly, it would be nice to have the ram survive an upgrade (or two). DDRII will probably come out in 3 months knowing my luck. =)
