OCZ EL Plat. Rev 2 PC3200 on ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe

My mas o/c on the ram at 1:1 ratio is with 9x multiplier and 245 HTT ..so arround 2.2 ghz with DDR 490 with timings stretched out at 3-5-5-10 1T When i go higher than that i get windows crashes and the infamous blue screen of death on startup. I would actually like a higher cpu clock , somewhere in the neighbour hood of 2.4 ghz and DDR 500 at minimum.. these things can run DDR 600 right? My mobo can only supply them with 2.9V but thats where the warranty voids so thats where i guess i have to draw the line, i was under the impression they would hit DDR600 on 2.9V

Also. if i wanted to achieve higher o/c on the chip ram aswell, I should try running a divider of 12 (333 in bios) and cranking up the HTT somewhere arround 280? I believe thats where my problem lies however because of my mobo, it can only pump out 1.55V to my 3200+ venice its

What would be better however

9 x 280 @ 0.83 (333) = 2.5ghz w/ DDR 460
or
9 x 245 @ 1:1 (400) = 2.2ghz w/ DDR 490

You paid for the 10X multiplier...why not use it? That way, you won't have to use the dividers.

If those were the only choices, then 280x9 would be MUCH better than 245x9. I would try 250x10 at 1:1 though.

3-5-5 timings are not what you want to be using. I'd suggest you lower your CPU multiplier to 8x and set your memory timings to 2.5-3-3-7 and the voltage to 2.7V. Now from 200FSB start raising the FSB untill you reach a point where you can no longer pass memtest. From here you can try 2.5-4-3-7 or 2.5-4-4-7 timings and adjust the voltage up and down to see if it helps. Once you've found your memories max speed you can bring the CPU speed back up and find the best mix of CPU and FSB speed.

I have the same mobo and ram. This mobo will NOT do ramspeeds over 245mhz 1T period. Just get your best CPU overclock and use a divider if necessary to keep your ram under 245mhz with tight timings. My best O/C with a 3200+ was 289x9=2601mhz using DDR333 which yielded 238mhz(DDR476) 2-3-2-7

Definitely try for 250x10 1:1, and if worst comes to worst, run a 6:5 divider and tighten the timings. I'm sure the Plat. can do DDR416 at 2-2-2 or 2-3-2.
