OCZ EL GOLD with AMD

I heard that the OCZ EL Gold DDR 4400 doesn't work well with either AMD or the 3200 chip. Is that true? If so, why.

It may just be the timings....I have seen many sticks of ram not run spec timings on the AMD systems...I had some geil sticks that ran excellent timings and speeds on my P4 system but wouldn't do nearly as good on my AMD rig....

I also noticed the GSkills I bought did not do rated speed at rated timings...I may have had a bad stick but I taslked to the ppl at gskill and the tetsing for timings and speeds listed were done on a prescott system...I wish they would stop doing that....

I know someone with pc4000 sticks of those and he didn't get a very good clocking out of them....

Yes, I can only go 250x9. However, I also tried Kinston Hyperx PC3500 and used a divider, and didn;t do any better. Seems like the chip...

Did that take cas 3 do get that or cas 2.5?? Basically what I am asking...Were you able to run at rated timings for that 500ddr???

Well, now thats a tough one. I think it was "stable" at 265x9 (2.5,3,3,8) in everything but F@H. It took a while to early unit end. Thing with F@H is, it takes days to weeks to figure what is really stable.everybody else here might says its stable at something else much higher. I think its the best indicator of "stable" (even though its a pain in the arse) Right now I am OK, (only ended one unit early in 3 days) at cas 3,4,4,10, 2.8v. But by all other inticators I have had it stable at 257x9 at 2.5,3,3,8, 2.6v.

Your statement is why anybody who does DC type of apps should only think of stability if their system is prime stable for days and can go weeks without early end work units....Now an occasional and I mean occasional early end unit is nothing to freak out about....Cause in 3 months I ran my p4 non stop doing FH I had like 2 early end work units and when I researched them I found other were having same issue..there is an occasional bad work unit but they are fairly rare.....

That was with the 1:1 divider??? if so 257 would have been 514ddr and that would have done spec, right???

yes, all at 1:1, and slightly over spec. Right now on spec, except cas3 and voltage. I really haven;t figured this out fo sure, but 450 mhz over and stable is still very good....
