$199.99
-$30 instant discount
-$30 MIR (exp. 10/12)
$2.99 shipping

NOTE: This is a 3.5" desktop drive, NOT a 2.5" notebook drive.

Great for those looking for more capacity than the typical 60/64GB models at this price, and cheaper/bigger/faster than the Intel 80GB deal recently. I believe this uses one of the Sandforce controllers.

Basically the same deal that Microcenter had over the weekend on this exact same drive. 3.5 doesn't bother me at all considering it is for my desktop.

How does this, especially with the new firmware, compare to the Vertex 2?

Anandtech's bench shows they're almost even except in the 4k aligned iometer test - and the agility 2's figures were from an older bios, I believe.

My impression is that this is almost identical in performance to the Vertex 2.

supposedly the agility is supposed to be built with cheaper (slower) flash compared to the vertex model.

I just went in on this, as my 60 gig Agility has been pushed to its limit...and with WoW: Cataclysm coming soon, it's only going to get worse.
meh ... still a difference in price when you go from 80/90 gig to 120gig

price drop should hit the 120gig size soon ...... AND I SHALL be waiting. muahahaha

I hope so! Onyx 2 is targetted at $198 for the 120.

The 120 was a good deal for me, as I know 90 gb won't cut it. Worth the premium of a little over $2 per GB.

Well, sounds as if both Intel's G3 and the upcoming Sandforce 2000 controllers are coming out Q1/11. If companies drop prices for both Christmas sales and to clear inventory for upcoming stuff, then maybe you'll get your wish.

Have you been naughty or nice? :p
