SVC has this for $3.99

BTW.
I want to ask you guys.
Which is the best?

1. OCZ 5+
2. Artic Silver 5
3. Ceramique

Thanks.

I read an article a few weeks ago about how OCZ 5 was actually found to contain almost NO silver. Search through the forums and you should find the link... anyway when OCZ found out they immediately tried to fix the problem by having AS5 supply their grease. I dont know if that is already the case or not - go with AS5 and you wont have to wonder! 🙂

Yeah...seriously. HOw many times does OCZ have to screw people before they decide not to buy their stuff anymore. First the memory issues, now the "silver" compound without any silver in it. I mean ...sheesh people.

They made good on their silver, Distributor problems. And i ordered OCZ memory back during their problem. They never screwed anyone, they misrepresented themselves as a huge business.

And also a lot of other companies with silver paste had no silver in it. You do realize most places dont make it themselves, Just rebrand.

Well I'll tell you this. AS5 definitely has silver in it, they have proven themselves reputable, and I got it for $5 and free shipping a few months back. Why even waste your time with a guessing game like OCZ?

There is no $3.99 AS5.. SVC does not have AS5 for $3.99; it is $5.99. What they have for the lower price is "Céramique 2.5g High Density Thermal Compound by Arctic Silver ". There's a difference. This is their "non-silver" version and is "ceramic-based thermal compound is specifically designed for modern high-power CPUs and high-performance heatsinks or water-cooling solutions."

Buz2b: Snatchface was making the comment that a while back, AS5 was on sale for $5 shipped. I'd rather have OCZ 5+ than Ceramique, but in the grand scheme of things $2 more for a superior product (AS5 or Shin-Etsu) seems worth it to me.

Of course, if you don't have *any* thermal paster around right now, get *something*, because bottom line is: you need to have it if you want the lowest possible temps.
