I got the same kit ffrom Monarch Computer for $262 shipped before $25 MIR. Much better deal for Cali customers. Except, they just shipped today when I ordered Wed. morning. Oh well.

This is the same basic Infineon chip with identical performance as on the Mushkin PC3200 memory. This deal is alot cheaper than the identical product in a Mushkin wrapper. But check similar Patriot product at outpost.com for $199.

Read the fine print on the rebate form carefully. I bought this OCZ RAM and the form said it had to be post marked 8-24-05, it did not say "on or before".

How does this compare to that Patriot 2x1gb for $199 in another thread in HD? I jumped on those due to the price but as they are backordered (~2 week delivery time) I can cancel and get these instead.

For me the Patriot was ~224 with tax and 2nd day shipping.

should be nearly identical... Same infineon chips. just the PCB is going to be different.

Good to know, I'm so glad I saved the ~$10 by getting the patriot ;) Actually since it has no rebate that makes it golden for me as I am not a big fan of MIR. Thanks for the info!

How will this memory as an upgrade help my overclock? Also, I checked OCZ's website for the OCZ Motherboard Qualification Guide but ocz only listed the 8RDA+, not any of the 9??? series. Has anyone heard of compatibility problems with my new epox(see sig)?
Lastly, does upgrading from1gb to 2gb improve all or just some computing activities?
I don't suppose the increased timings will mean all that much.

BTW, the price is now up to $243.22 AMIR. :(

Post this in general hardware if you want a better answer. Better yet, do some searching of the forums first as most of your questions have been answered many times all-ready. Good luck

People, save yourself some money and just get cheap value ram, such as Corsair Value Select. This stuff with supposed tight timings doesn't give you any real-world benefit. You're wasting your money.

The funny part is it actually does give you some benefit. You can overclock pretty well with looser timings on these modules. These looser timings are still tighter than any value ram timings which adds that few % increase in speed. Also, they have a lifetime warranty up to 2.8v. What that means is that you can overclock them as much as you want up to 2.8v and if they fry you get a new set. All this combined with the fact that these usually have less than a $20 difference in price (AR) than the corsair value select.

So why not get better ram for only a few $ more?

Corsair Value 2x1GB for $208. Thats a ~$17 difference AR.
