People are so used to these ram deals now. They just yawn at them. Maybe these great DDR2 prices are here to stay for awhile.

Heh. I agree. At there were w few companies selling RAM low. Then Crucial stepped out and wow... insane prices. OCZ was throwing out some things as well, but the Ballistix & Tracers was where it was at. Now OCZ has some good D9 RAM at a low price ($90 AR+GC), but we already used to these prices!

At this point, I'm just sick of rebates. Just the fact that I'm waiting on 8 rebates at the moment... Still a great deal though. Maybe I'll buy just to play around with and resell since how can you lose any resale value on 1066 RAM at $100... But those rebates just take so long.

Completely off-topic, but I'm getting sick of the rebate SCAMS lately. I got burnt by the Connect3d/Buy.com deal and now I'm waiting on another Buy.com rebate which feels like another scam. Seems the tough economy has corrupted more firms lately and now they seem to be stealing rebate money more than usual. In the past ~6 years, I've sent in at least 60 rebates and gotten paid every time. I had to make a handful of calles/e-mails to push a few through, but in the end alway got my money.

I'm completely anti-rebate for the moment.

How does this ram compare to CT Ballistix Tracer ram?
$40 rebate from OCZ?
Just be warned of OCZ rebate.

Search OCZ rebates around here in this very forum.

my Crucial Ballistix was defective and NewEgg refunded me and credited me for my 'trouble' ... i think it uses the same Micron D9GMH (B6-3)

OCZ is fine .. there is even a OCZ rep that regularly visits here to help with any problems.

and i ordered it anyway ... should be fine in a Xfire MB
[i hope :p]

it is still available

unfortunately i got a bad stick ... one DIMM works fine in all slots the other doesn't work in any slot ... this is the second-time-in-a-row it happened ... last time with Crucial Balliistix PC2-8500 also. i guess i am "meant" to have PC6400 :p

i had to take the full refund as Buy.com won't allow me to cut the UPC. However, they are a pretty good company ... they are paying for the return shipping.
-and i don't want to just buy a 2nd pair .. i will wait for that sale on Cross-Fire certified RAM
